Boerne native and ESPN personality Michelle Beadle is set to leave the morning show “Get Up!” to host more NBA-related content for the network.

The move comes after Beadle made some controversial remarks last week on the show where she stated she no longer watches college or professional football.

Beadle made the comments in response to the conclusion of the investigation into the Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. Beadle said the sport does not care about women.

(Part of Beadle's comments are transcribed below. The full video clip is below as well.)

“I believe that the sport of football has set itself up to be in a position where it shows itself in the bigger picture to not really care about women," she said. "They don’t really care about people of color, but we won’t get into that for NFL either, but as a woman I feel like a person who has been marginalized.”

ESPN public relations issued a media release Friday that said Beadle will now host a new post-game NBA show that will air after Wednesday and Friday night doubleheaders on ESPN.

The release said Beadle will also continue to host "NBA Countdown" and studio coverage for the NBA playoffs and Finals.

Beadle recently extended her contract with ESPN and will return to Los Angeles. Her last day on “Get Up!” will be Wednesday.
