SAN ANTONIO – Billy Joel and Sting will take the stage at the Alamodome for a one-night-only concert this Friday, drawing thousands of fans to downtown San Antonio.
Billy Joel and Sting
Billy Joel, often called the “Piano Man,” is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold over 160 million records globally. This marks his first performance at the Alamodome since 1994. His iconic hits, along with new material—including his first single in 17 years, “Turn The Lights Back On,” are set to captivate the crowd.
Sting, the renowned English musician and former frontman of The Police, will also grace the stage. With 17 Grammy Awards and 100 million albums sold, this performance marks his return to San Antonio after 17 years, and his first-ever appearance at the Alamodome.
Plan Ahead
With the concert set to begin at 7 p.m., heavy traffic and parking challenges are expected, especially near the Alamodome and along I-37/U.S. 281.
City officials are urging concertgoers to plan ahead and arrive early to avoid delays caused by traffic congestion and ongoing construction. Doors to the Alamodome open at 5:30 p.m.
Alternative transportation options such as public transit or ridesharing are recommended. VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer Park & Ride services to help ease the congestion around the venue.
For those driving, the City of San Antonio’s SAPark website offers details on available parking, including maps of city-owned garages and lots. Event parking rates, capped at $15, will be in effect at certain locations from Friday afternoon through Sunday, October 27.
