Holiday cheer can be found all over town this weekend

SAN ANTONIO – The weekend before Thanksgiving is filled with many holiday themed events.

Here are a look at some of the events taking place during the week of Nov. 17-19:

San Antonio Zoo Light: Camels, s'mores, light shows and santa, are all a part of this year's event. All that fun can be had everyday starting Nov. 18 until Dec. 31. Zoo lights opens daily from noon to 9 p.m.

Light the Way Holiday Festival: The annual festival at the University of the Incarnate Word takes place Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The lights around the university will be switched on with a ceremony event. There will also be vendors, food trucks, and Santa will make a visit.

Light Up the Night: This Christmas event takes place at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa. From Nov. 18 until Dec. 31 you can enjoy an outdoor winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights. 

SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration: SeaWorld kicks off the holiday season this weekend. From Nov. 18 until Jan. 2nd, eight million lights will transform the park. Tickets are available online. 

40th Annual Holiday Parade in Alame Heights: This parade will take place on Nov. 18, starting at 5:30 p.m. The parade will make its way down Broadway St. This year the parade will benefit Elf Louise.

Kerrville's Holiday Lighted Parade: On Saturday the town of Kerrville will have their annual holiday parade starting at 6 p.m. This takes place in the downtown area.

Sutherland Springs BBQ Fundraiser: Hosted by Miracles 'R Possible in Floresville this fundraiser starts at 10 a.m. at the Floresville Event Center. All proceeds will go to the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs to help with funeral expenses. 

Sutherland Springs Feast of Sharing: Theresa's Kitchen will be hosting this event at the Sutherland Springs Community Building. A free turkey meal with all the trimmings will be given out from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The meal is free but donations and desserts are welcomed.
