If you’re an Oreo purist – no need to read any further. But if you don’t mind walking on the wild side when it comes to your creme-filled cookies, you can test your taste buds with Nabisco’s new Mystery Oreo.
The newest Oreo looks like a typical Oreo but doesn't taste like one. Whether that’s a good or bad thing depends on, well … individual taste.

Of course, it’s a marketing ploy and there’s a contest attached. Between now and Nov. 30, people can go to this dedicated website and submit a guess as to what the flavor is. There’s a chance to win a $50,000 grand prize.
Oreo has released many limited edition cookies in recent years, including candy corn, apple pie, jelly donut, waffles & syrup, and pumpkin spice flavors.
Note from the author: I’ve tasted the cookie. I found the flavor palatable while I was eating it, but there is a definite unpleasant aftertaste. I also have a guess as to what the flavor is. If you don’t mind the spoiler alert, scroll down for my guess.

The Mystery Oreos have an artificial fruity taste that is very similar to the cereal Fruity Pebbles. However, Oreo released a limited edition Fruity Crisp flavor just last year – so would they repeat that flavor so soon? For now, that’s a mystery.
