SAN ANTONIO – Can you believe hometown dates are almost here? This season is flying by!
Before we even start with the dates in Switzerland Rachel drops a bombshell that there won’t be a rose ceremony. Say what?! That means 3 one-on-one dates and 1 three-on-one date. The guys knew it was time to buckle up for this rollercoaster of emotions.

No surprise Bryan got the first one-on-one date. He doesn’t even have to say anything to make Rachel swoon. Boy, does he have her wrapped around his little finger.
Their date was over the top in every way. Rachel showered him with lavished gifts. How could he not be falling in love with her? You know he got a rose guaranteeing him a hometown date. Oh, Bryan. He’s handsome and a super smooth talker but is this guy too good to be true? Are the red flags about to start popping up? How is he this “perfect” and still single? No matter what happens, I definitely think he’ll be one of the final two.
Dean got the second one-on-one date and we saw a different side to him. Normally he’s all smiles, but fears of introducing Rachel to his dysfunctional family dominated their time together. In the end his honesty paid off and he got the rose. While I really like the giggly Dean, it was refreshing to see a deeper, more vulnerable side to him. You know his hometown date is going to be a wild ride!
The beauty of the Swiss Alps couldn’t keep the drama from Peter’s date. They’ve had a connection from the beginning but this date was all about brutal honesty. They were able to grow deeper and he got the rose.
Sadly, I still feel the same way about Peter. What a snooze fest. I almost stopped paying attention during their date. Don’t get me wrong, I really want to like him. I like the idea of him. He’s just so boring.
The three-on-one date was brutal. Eric, Matt and Adam knew it was going to be a rough one. It was so hard to watch Rachel say goodbye to Matt. We all knew he wasn’t going to make it to the end, but what a sweet guy. That was a tough farewell. But like the good guys before him, he took it like a champ.
Then there was Adam. Even though he did his best to make a lasting impression, alas, it wasn’t enough.
In the end, Eric got the group date rose. I still don’t trust him. There are too many red flags popping up around him. I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. Honestly, I have to admit I disagree with Rachel on this one. I would have given the rose to Matt. I think if they had more time together things could have been different.
Now things are about to get juicy. Next week it’s time to meet the families. This is always one of my favorite episodes because you never know what to expect. I have a feeling this season will be no exception.
Don’t miss a minute of the drama Monday night on KSAT 12.
