Many San Antonio-area school districts recently implemented another phase in their plans to return students to the classroom. But did you know, that roughly 3 out of 4 Bexar County parents say distance learning has improved since last spring?

According to a Bexar Facts-KSAT-San Antonio Report poll released earlier this week, 72% of respondents think school districts are doing either a “much better” or “somewhat better” job during this round of virtual learning. Way to go everyone!

In this week’s KSAT Kids' educator spotlight, we highlight Lisa Barry, a fifth-grade teacher at Woodridge Elementary School in the Alamo Heights Independent School District who was recently selected as one of two area finalists for 2021 Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year. Barry’s classroom tolerance project gained statewide recognition after she noticed children being bullied in her classroom.

And here’s a question for you: Do you know if penguin’s sneeze? Well, the answer is yes! On Thursday SeaWorld San Antonio sent KSAT a video of several penguins sneezing after the question was recently asked by a visitor.

For those students seeking additional schooling help, the San Antonio Public Library is still offering back-to-school resources to help with their lessons. We also have a list of places offering free Wi-Fi for students and their families during the pandemic.
