Hello parents, teachers and students!

Well, just as quickly as San Antonio schools received good news regarding the school safety indicator, it was just as quickly taken away.

The Metropolitan Health District raised the indicator to yellow -- meaning the city’s COVID-19 positivity rate has increased back to “moderate” -- above 5%. KSAT reached out to the city’s largest districts yesterday and two of them said they are still pressing forward with a return to the classroom. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

So since we could all use some good news, KSAT would like to announce the creation of something fun: Penguin Cam!

Viewers can now watch a live view of nearly 250 penguins from four different species at SeaWorld San Antonio. Watch anywhere, anytime on all of KSAT’s platforms.

In this week’s KSAT Kids' student spotlight, we highlight a 17-year-old who was chosen as the KSAT12 Fiesta medal design winner. Vienna Nguyen won despite Fiesta’s cancellation due to COVID-19 and recently received her medal. Way to go!

KSAT Kids is also still looking for junior meteorologists. We’d love to see them give the weather forecast. Parents, you can upload videos by clicking here.

And for students seeking additional schooling help, the San Antonio Public Library is offering resources to help with their lessons. We also have a list of places offering free Wi-Fi for students and their families.

Stay safe and wash your hands, everybody!
