SAN ANTONIO – Located in Plaza de Armas in the city's center, O'liva brings a farm-to-table concept to downtown San Antonio.
With several partnerships involved with the restaurant, owner Chuck Hernandez is putting a lot of focus on healthier ingredients being used.
Olive oil is one of the main ingredients used and is the concept behind the name.
"O'liva is Spanish for olive," Hernandez said.
The restaurant is also gearing up for the holidays and giving customers a reason to not have to cook this Thanksgiving.
"We have chosen traditional, which you will recognize," Hernandez said. "The menu is fresh. The ingredient list is a little bit elevated, in that we've been very careful which meats we've chosen."
If you order ahead of time, you can take home a complete dinner that includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pies and other sides.
And as the season changes, so will the menu options.
With the guidance of City Council, Hernandez and his staff are hoping O'liva promotes healthier lifestyles and nourishes customers' bodies and souls.
