Former gas station smoking up traditional BBQ packed with Texas flavors

Flavor Favs: Barbecue Station

SAN ANTONIO – An old gas station on 1610 NE Loop 410 is smoking up some of the city's best BBQ.

The Peacock family opened up the Barbecue Station back in the early 90's.

"My parents started in 92," owner Stewart Peacock said. "Dad was in the oil business and traveled to a lot of small towns and just loved eating BBQ."

Inside you can find the old service bays transformed into the dining area and also you can find familiar faces. The majority of the staff has been around for years.

As for the food, you have your traditional options like brisket, chicken, turkey and ribs.

All the meats on the menu are smoked with true Texas flavors, mesquite and oak.

This is another place in town that proves that Texas BBQ is the best.

"You like to be recognized for all your hard work and we work hard here," Peacock said.
