SAN ANTONIO – When fans flock to the Alamodome for a football game this fall, not only will they be cheering on their team, they might also applaud some new food choices.
Fans can look forward to feasting on some upscale food from some of the most popular restaurants in San Antonio.
Among the new vendors are barbecue favorite The Big Bib, Mexican food icon Los Barrios and Earl Abel's will be serving their mouthwatering homestyle food.
"We wanted to make it so people could come in and not just enjoy the event but can also enjoy the food," said Alamodome executive chef Patrick Cole.
Cole has over a decade of experience cooking up some pretty interesting cuisine for arenas and stadiums across the country.
Fans watching a game from one of the suites will be able to feast on some of Cole's special creations that include apple-smoked bacon pork tenderloin, hash chili pulled pork or churros that come in three different flavors.
"I tried to make things that I have seen or have done in the past to represent Texas and to represent San Antonio," Cole said.
With the new restaurants and fun offerings, Cole hopes to come out a winner.
"We want to make sure we have the best stadium and arena food in not just this city but this state, this country," he said.
