30 Years of tradition and Chinese food served at SA restaurant

Flavor Favs: Ding How

SAN ANTONIO – For decades the Huey family has been serving San Antonio Chinese food, and now William Huey is carrying on the family tradition.

"We started actually at Hung Fong over on Broadway and we opened in 1938 there and we opened this one in 1983," owner William Huey said.

Known as the building on stilts, Ding How off 410 and Callaghan has grown with the Alamo City.

"I remember when we first grew up here and opened the restaurant, there wasn't a lot of traffic on 410," Huey said.

As the now fourth generation owner, Huey continues to bring American style Chinese food to its loyal customers.

Using traditional Chinese cooking techniques, Ding How serves up favorites like sesame chicken, egg rolls, hot and sour soup and lemon chicken.

As generations of families continue to choose Ding How as their favorite Chinese food in town, the Huey Family is looking forward to being a part of those families for many more years to come.
