The 2,300-square-foot restaurant is expected to open sometime this spring, according to marketing director Ramil Rodriguez.
“... As a San Antonio icon, Burger Boy #4 will once again pay homage to the oldest rotating sign in Texas with a signature rotating sign of its own,” Burger Boy said in a news release, adding that the new spot was “highly requested.”
This is the newest location since a Burger Boy popped up at Shaenfield Road and Loop 1604 about one year ago. The burger joint’s second location opened in February 2019 at Potranco Road and Hunt Lane.
The original Burger Boy on the St. Mary’s Strip opened in the 1980s.
The original restaurant was owned by the Bates family -- part of the same family that created Whopper Burger in San Antonio in the 1950s. In 2017, Carl Bates sold to new owners but he still provides input.
