SAN ANTONIO – Blue Bell Creameries has released a new flavor to celebrate its expansion to Missouri.
Gooey Butter Cake ice cream is available in stores as of Monday, the same day Blue Bell products will arrive in St. Louis.

The flavor includes a cream cheese swirl and butter cake pieces. It will be available in half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.
“Our new Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream is as delicious as the cake made famous in St. Louis,” Carl Breed, the vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said in a news release. “Our ice cream is a great introduction if you have not tasted a gooey butter cake. There are delicious pieces of cake in each bite...”
Breed added that the company is “excited to bring our products to St. Louis and the surrounding cities.”
In January, the Brenham-based creamery released another limited-time flavor, Cinnamon Twist Ice Cream. It is still available in stores in half-gallon and pint sizes.
That flavor includes brown sugar, cinnamon, cinnamon bun dough pieces and a cinnamon icing swirl.
