SAN ANTONIO – Food can truly be artistic and that is why Andrea Garcia has combined the two at her new restaurant, Casa Azul de Andrea.
Located at 1036 S. Alamo, Casa Azul is a homage to Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and Mexican street food.

The inside of the restaurant is covered in paintings of Frida by local artists. The are is also for sale and can be bought at any time.
As for the food, Casa Azul specializes in tortas, mini tacos, street corn and tapas.
A surprise on the menu is the frijoles Southtown (beans made with Kilobasa sausage and chicharon) and the mole french fries.
"Different flavors just pop into my head and kind of come out," Garcia said.
Brunch is also served on Sunday mornings and the menu features breakfast tortas -- including a barbacoa and egg torta.
"I love barbacoa and eggs on Sundays," Garcia said. "It's very good."
Whether it's your love for art or really good food, this one place that you should stop by soon and enjoy.
