SAN ANTONIO – Different families came together to help children who are at-risk or experiencing mental and behavioral problems.
The Bexar Cares program hosted the first Family Network kickoff event Wednesday.

There were a series of roundtable discussions and lectures, wherein people shared personal experiences and contributed ideas on how to improve the mental health system.
“Today, we listened to what’s been working, what has been challenging and what ideas we have to be a better system,” retired U.S. Army Col. George Patrin, MD, said.
About 350 parents, foster parents and adoptive parents and other caregivers were in attendance.
