ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas – A man is dead and a woman was hospitalized after their cars collided in Atascosa County.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of FM 3006 and U.S. Highway 281 just north of Pleasanton.

Police said a blue sports car being driven by a man in his early 20s came up to a stop sign, but skidded out of control.
He was T-boned at 70 miles per hour by a woman driving a red Pontiac.
The man inside the sports car was killed instantly.
The woman who hit him was reportedly flown to University Hospital with unknown injuries.
State troopers say they believe the deceased man had been racing with another car just moments before the crash.
