Just the fact that they want to have their lives documented on camera for the entire world to see makes most reality TV "stars" annoying by default. However, there are some that give you that "fork scraping a plate" feeling more than others. It is important to point out, though, that being annoying is not necessarily the same thing as being evil. The annoying ones aren't necessarily bad people; they just have personalities that make you want to reach through your TV screen and engage them in a Homer-Bart stranglehold. Some are washed up celebrities trying to drain the last drop of blood out of their fading careers. Others are superstar wannabes who have about as much chance of reaching that lofty status as a pig has of flying. Either way, annoying reality-TV personalities are abundant. But do you agree with our choices for the worst?

Carnie Wilson - 'Carnie: Unstapled'
Whether you are aware of it or not, Carnie Wilson, daughter of Beach Boy Brian Wilson, briefly had a reality show on the Game Show Network (GSN) called "Carnie: Unstapled.
"This is not surprising since this is a woman who elected to have her gastric bypass surgery performed live on the Internet. Clearly her days singing in the pop group Wilson-Phillips were not enough to satisfy her craving for attention.
Being the host of the new "Newlywed Game" on GSN was obviously not enough either. So Carnie chose to have the cameras follow her around 24/7, documenting her boring and annoying life.
What have we learned from this endeavor? That Carnie Wilson is one of the most whiny, negative, nerve-ravaging people on the planet.
Despite all that, she is still less annoying than our next choice ...
Annoying Reality Star No. 4: One Irritating Vegan
Barbara Gates - 'Trading Spouses'
"Trading Spouses" always did have a knack for finding some of the most irritating people on earth. But even the infamous "God Warrior" Marguerite Perrin could not compete with the walking, talking irritant known as Barbara Gates.
Perrin was at least entertaining. Obsessive Vegan Barbara Gates not only preached her vegan lifestyle relentlessly to everyone she came in contact with on the Louisiana Bayou, but she actually also wound up eating alligator meat, claiming that it wasn't really wrong because alligators are ugly and mean.
Barbara talked to her own family and her surrogate family with a condescending, controlling tone that made fingernails on a chalkboard sound like a symphony. But the most irritating moment of all was when she popped in a video about animal cruelty during a dinner party and began to theatrically weep.
Fortunately, her TV time was relatively short compared to some ...
Annoying Reality Star No. 3: Go, Spidey, Go (Away!)
Spencer Pratt And Heidi Montag - 'The Hills'
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, collectively known as "Spidey," have milked their 15 minutes of fame so shamelessly that they have practically killed the cow.
In a sense, it is not even fair to call them reality stars, considering that the show that made them infamous, MTV's "The Hills" is clearly one of the most scripted and producer-controlled programs ever to call itself a reality show.
That said, the couple's stint on "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!" does qualify them for the title of most annoying couple in reality-television history.
These are two people who crave attention so badly that they are willing to go to just about any lengths to appear on the front page of the tabloids or get a sound bite on Entertainment Tonight.
Who could possibly be more annoying than these two? You're about to find out ...
Annoying Reality Star No. 2: If You Put It That Way ... The Money
Rob Campos - 'For Love Or Money'
For those of you who don't remember Rob Campos, he was the so-called "prize" on NBC's hit reality show "For Love or Money."
The premise of the show was that whichever woman Rob chose as his love interest would get a choice between him and a shot at a million dollars.
Not only did Rob always have a look on his face as though he just smelled a vegetable lasagna fart, but choosing a million dollars over Rob seemed to be about as easy a decision as choosing between a five-star vacation and a year in a prison camp.
Putting up with Rob's unwarranted egotism, milquetoast demeanor and sexist slurs was all worth it, however, when his final choice, Erin Brodie said, "Show me the money" and "Show Rob the door.
"But there is still one reality star who tops them all when it comes to annoying behavior ...
Annoying Reality Star No. 1: Blowing The Whistle On Coach
'Coach' Ben Wade - 'Survivor'
Primarily known by his nickname, "Coach," Ben Wade's experience on the hit TV show "Survivor" clearly qualifies him as the most annoying reality-TV contestant of all time.
As if his first stint as a reality "star" weren't bad enough, Coach made a return to polluting our TV screens again on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" in 2010. Fortunately," he had relatively little screen time early in the season, other than his shameless flirtations with another "Survivor" irritant, Jerri Manthey. Then he was voted off during the season's eight episode. So there is some justice in reality TV world after all.
But during season 18, the self-proclaimed "Dragon Slayer" was a lot better at slaying everyone's nerves than he was at conquering anything else. This man told so many tall tales that host Jeff Probst tried to get him to take a polygraph on the live reunion show. He, of course, refused, but then presented the results of his own polygraph as proof of his sincerity.
Few would disagree that one of the greatest moments in "Survivor" history was when it was "game over" for the coach.
