LYTLE, Texas ā While Lytle remained a quiet town on Thursday, the anticipation among its residents was at a fever pitch.
"We've waited probably for about eight years for it to come. They've been saying its coming its coming and it's finally here," said Lytle resident Susan Sutton, referring to the new H-E-B Plus, which will open its doors on Friday.

The new grocery store sets just behind the original H-E-B, but is much larger.
"We're going from a 34,000-square-foot store to an 118,000-square-foot store, so we almost quadrupled the size of the store we are at," said Larry Contreras, general manager for the new H-E-B Plus.
"Well, it's kind of big and grand for Lytle, but we'll see," said Lytle resident Ginger Meyer, who was excited about the store's potential.
"We need a big store, because a lot of us get tired of having to drive all the way to San Antonio," said Atascosa resident Sherill Nentwich.
The store's large size is expected to promote growth and have a large economic impact on the area which extends outside Lytle's city limits.
"Natalia, Devine, Somerset, Von Ormy, LaCoste, Castroville; they are very, very excited of their new store," said Contreras.
