Customer at odds with Resurrection General Contractors

Daisy Burton: Patio addition took too long to build

SAN ANTONIO – A woman's covered porch project is finally complete after her 8-month struggle with a contractor to get what she wanted.

Daisy Burton hired Resurrection General Contractors to build the covered patio and said the workmanship was poor. "If he can scam me, what can he do to somebody that's not that knowledgeable," Burton said. "And he has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau."

Burton said the floor was not level, the tile had to be taken out, there were cracks in the brick columns and loose solar screens. "I paid $23,000 and I have a product I can't use," Burton said.

Arthur Cockfield of Resurrection Contracting had a different story. He said Burton had been a nightmare to work with and that she stood in the way of him getting the job finished." He sent Chris Martinez to assess the problems and fix them. Martinez was in the difficult position of middle man. "Ma'am, I understand you're upset with him," Martinez told Burton in front of KSAT cameras. "I understand that you have issues with him. I'm here to help you take care of this."

Now all the defects have been corrected to Burton's satisfaction and her covered patio is ready for use. Her advice to consumers is continue to fight for what you believe in. Resurrection said contractors should beware of picky customers
