McDonald's says it is dropping the pink slime used in its world-famous burgers.
The fast food restaurant chain says it is no longer using he controversial ground beef additive filler.

The slime is used to treat leftover meat scraps, typically used for dog food, with ammonium hydroxide in order to kill bacteria and make it edible for humans.
McDonald's move comes after TV Chef Jamie Olivier made a public call for restaurants and school cafeterias to stop using the slime.
The slime is approved by the USDA.
