SAN ANTONIO – The jury began deliberating the verdict Thursday afternoon in the trial of a man charged in the death of his former girlfriend in 2009.
Jon Thomas Ford, 44, was arrested in 2010 and charged with killing Dana Clair Edwards.
Edwards was found dead in her townhome in 2009.
According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner, she was strangled.
Three months earlier, Edwards had ended their two year relationship.
Deliberations began following three hours of closing arguments.
Prosecutors argued that cell phone records and security camera video show Ford was at Edwards' Alamo Heights condo the night of the murder.
Ford told police he left a New Year's Eve party they both attended and then went straight home.
Despite admitting the case contains circumstantial evidence, prosecutors argued that there was enough for a conviction.
