The University of Texas at San Antonio broke ground on the Park West Athletics Complex on Tuesday.
The complex is located on a 125-acre track of land about two miles west of UTSA's main campus. It will be constructed in multiple phases.
The complex will include a 1,000-seat soccer stadium, a 1,000-seat track and field facility and a 500-car parking lot.
Future development of the complex will include baseball, softball and tennis facilities.
Some of the dignitaries on hand Tuesday included UT Board of Regents Chairman William Powell, UTSA President Dr. Ricardo Romo and UTSA Athletics Director Lynn Hickey.
