SAN ANTONIO – Police say a suspected burglar fell 15 to 20 feet through the ceiling of a BigLots store early Tuesday morning.
A silent alarm alerted store managers and police that the man was inside the store at Loop 410 and Marbach around 12:45 a.m.
The 33-year-old suspect lost his shoes in the attic and hurt himself during his crash landing, but police said he was still trying to break into the safe when they arrived.
Investigators said the suspect had a sledge hammer and other tools with him.
Police said he would be charged with burglary of a building. Investigators plan to question him about other burglaries in the area.
