Shoplifted items seized from Mission Open Air Flea Market

Toiletries, dietary supplements stolen from HEB

SAN ANTONIO – Police officers seized more than a dozen boxes of products from the Mission Open Air Flea Market Wednesday that they believe were shoplifted from area HEB stores.

Police were notified recently by loss prevention officers with HEB that missing shoplifted items were being sold at the flea market.

Vendors were interviewed, and some admitted they had purchases the items, which ranged from toiletries to dietary supplements, by the pallet from a third party.

Officers did not make any arrests, saying the operation was geared primarily to educate vendors.

Police said the items confiscated were worth between $10,000 and $20,000.
