Whitley charged with murder; Hollis Nealy accused of being getaway driver

SAN ANTONIO – Police arrested 23-year-old Latray Whitley on Thursday night in connection with the 2009 slaying of Corey Cumby.

Whitley was taken into custody at a home in the 9500 block of Lorene on the North Side after investigators said they found new evidence during the investigation.

Whitely was wanted for the Nov. 8, 2009, shooting death of Cumby, 34. Cumby was found dead in his wrecked car off I-35 near Eisenhauer.

He was last seen that evening at Club Studio on Perrin Beitel and had been shot to death as he drove down I-35.

Police made another arrest in June. Hollis Nealy is the alleged getaway driver.

Police released Whitley's picture to the media in late June, naming him as a suspect in this crime. Whitely faces a murder charge.
