SAN ANTONIO – The all clear has been given at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital after a white powder substance was found there Tuesday afternoon.
The all clear was given around 2:30 p.m. and officials on scene said there wasn't even enough powder found to be collected for testing.
The San Antonio Fire Department got the call at 12:12 p.m. -- a short time after someone in a radiology lab opened a letter.
As that person was opening the envelope, a white powder fell out of it onto a computer keyboard.
There were 75 people in the area near the lab when the letter was opened and those people were quarantined while firefighters with the hazardous materials unit collected the powder and did tests.
A spokesperson for the department said there was such a small amount of powder that it couldn't be tested and the keyboard didn't show any signs of harmful substances.
None of the people inside the lab or anywhere else in the hospital described feeling sick or having any other symptoms.
Officials said there was nothing threatening in the letter..
The hospital is located in the 7400 block of Merton Minter.
