SAN ANTONIO – Attempts by Christopher Cantu, 37, to reunite with his ex-girlfriend have led to criminal charges, San Antonio police said. Cantu is charged with telephone harassment.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Cantu placed repeated calls and sent emails to the woman, whom he had dated for about two years.
She told police that she asked him to stop because the calls were putting her job in jeopardy.
The affidavit stated that an investigator also contacted Cantu, ordering him to leave the woman alone, but none of it worked.
In one of his last emails, Cantu told his ex-girlfriend that he had "a warrant placed from my arrest," and that he went "From being the love of Yur (sic) life to this," the affidavit stated.
Cantu was arrested last month for assaulting the same woman, and she told investigators she fears for her safety, the affidavit stated.
After his arrest Wednesday, Cantu was booked into jail with bond set at $3,500.
