SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio City officials unveiled a new playground Tuesday at the Southside Lions Community Center.
The new playground replaces the old, aging one and was funded with a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

San Antonio Parks and Recreation officials say the park was desperately needed in this area.
"The more opportunities we have to provide different variety of amenities in our parks, then we are reaching the goal of again, getting kids out, keeping them active, and keeping them fit," said Xavier Urrutie, Director of Parks and Recreation.
The same grant that funded this park also funded playgrounds at Walker Ranch Historical Landmark Park and San Juan Brady Park.
