Joshua Carrillo accused of cashing stolen checks from NISD school booster club

Police: Joshua Carrillo, 20, caught on camera cashing stolen checks

SAN ANTONIO – Joshua Carrillo, 20, is facing a forgery charge after allegedly being caught on camera cashing checks that belonged to a music booster club for the Northside Independent School District.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the president of the Music Booster Club notified NISD's police department about the stolen checks Nov. 12.

Investigators said they learned through surveillance photos from an H-E-B store, and a thumbprint left on the checks, that Carrillo had cashed the checks, totaling more than $1,200, the affidavit stated.

The booster club president told detectives that she had not made out the checks to Carrillo, the affidavit stated. Police arrested Carrillo Thursday.
