Woman's body found in Kerrville park identified

Kerrville PD: Passer-by made discovery along Guadalupe River

KERRVILLE, Texas – A woman's body found in Louise Hays Park along the Guadalupe River has been identified as 53-year-old Jennifer Koplos of Johnson City, according to Paul Gonzales, Kerrville Police spokesman.

He said a passerby encountered her body around midday Thursday in a wooded area on the riverbank.

Gonzales said the woman may have had medical issues. He said her family had reported her missing Wednesday to Blanco County authorities.

But her disappearance also was posted on a website for Missing Autism Alerts.

He said their investigation is in its early stages, so he had little information at this point.

"We don't know if this individual was wandering around. We don't know if she was residing locally at a residence. We don't know any details at this point," Gonzales said.

He said the autopsy results that could take weeks will determine whether hers was a natural death or not.

Gonzales said anyone with information can contact Kerrville Police at 830-257-8181.
