Lockdown lifted at Steele High School

Classes resume following brief lockdown

A brief but violent feud between two teenagers led to the temporary lockdown of Steele High School Tuesday morning.

SAN ANTONIO – Steele High School was placed under temporary lockdown Tuesday morning.

According to the Cibolo Police Department, the lockdown was issued as a safety precaution prior to the start of classes following a report of a shooting of a car window at a bus stop by a 16-year-old boy.

When police feared the boy may have gotten on a school bus, they ordered the lockdown. It turned out the boy wasn't on the bus and a shooting never occurred. The teenager actually broke the car window with a hammer. He was eventually located and charged with criminal mischief.

The lockdown was lifted and classes resumed as normal.
