Alfred Gonzales, 36, arrested in connection with neighbor's shooting

SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of shooting his neighbor is now behind bars.

The shooting happened on Sept. 3 at the corner of North Hackberry and Hays.

According to an arrest affidavit, 36-year-old Alfred Gonzales and his neighbor, 23-year-old Robert Hernandez, were arguing over food stamps.

The affidavit says that later that day, their daughters began fighting and Gonzalez and Hernandez jumped in.

That's when Gonzales allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Hernandez three times.

Witnesses identified Gonzales as the shooter.
