SAN ANTONIO – Former San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger recently underwent successful heart surgery.
According to Amy Miller, director of Client Relations & Marketing for Cox Smith, where Hardberger is a shareholder, said the former mayor underwent the procedure Friday afternoon to correct a clogged artery.

Miller said the surgery was successful and Hardberger is resting comfortably and a full recovery is expected.
Hardberger was mayor from 2005 to 2009.
