Father of woman killed in overnight crash mourns loss

1 daughter killed in wreck, 1 facing charges

The father of 25-year-old Tiara Richmond, who died overnight in an accident on North East Loop 410, is mourning the loss of his daughter and standing with the driver, his 26-year-old daughter Epiphany Richmond.

Craig Anderson said his daughters were like twins, always concerned about each other. He is relying on his faith in God to get him through this tough time.

"Right now by the grace of God, giving us that strength to move forward," said Anderson.

Around 2:20 a.m. Saturday Anderson's daughters Epiphany and Tiara were driving their Chevrolet Trailblazer on North East Loop 410 just past the I-10 East overpass. Both women had been drinking, according to the family.

"It was foolishness, bad decisions and that's how that happened," said Anderson.

According to police, the driver, Epiphany, veered to the right, causing her SUV to overturn.

Tiara, the passenger, was ejected and died at the scene.

Epiphany was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"I know from my heart she's hurting worse than any judgment that can be brought on her," Anderson said.

Anderson said he has a message for anyone thinking about getting behind the wheel after drinking.

"Please think first before you drink. Think first before your drive," Anderson said.

Anderson said the family is from Chicago and funeral arrangements have been made there.

He said he will stay by Epiphany's side. She is currently at SAMMC recovering.

She faces charges of intoxication manslaughter.
