Bulverde Airport owner hopes surveillance video leads to arrest

Airport office burned down three weeks ago

Three weeks ago, flames destroyed a small office building at the Bulverde airport. The aviation school and flight logs were completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire still unknown.

"It was a shock, it was a fire that nobody thought would happen, nobody expected," said airport owner Roxanne Markline.

Surveillance cameras were rolling that night. At certain angles you can see a vehicle; if you look closer, a person.

"It only shows the person coming in and coming up to the flight school," Markline said.

Markline says it's not unusual for somebody to be on the property after dark but what he did before leaving the property is puzzling.

"He came over (to the building) and shut off the electricity," said Markline.

Shortly after that the building went up in flames. Fire investigators could not find the cause.

Markline can now only hope the person seen in the video or anyone with information comes forward.

"I'm hoping through talking with you that first of all whoever was here that evening late will come and say, 'Hey I was here, I did or did not see x,y,z,'" Markline said.

If you have any information about the fire you are asked to call the fire marshall at 830-643-3743.
