Kerrville police seize drugs, arrest 3

Wanted man attempts to elude officers after being found in apartment

Three people were arrested and drugs were seized after police began searching for a wanted man Thursday morning.

Kerrville police arrived at an apartment at 8:21 a.m. Thursday to the 3300 block of Legion Drive after receiving information of a possible wanted man, identified as Elias Samora Barrera Jr., wanted on two felony warrants.

When the door opened, officers said they could immediately smell an odor of marijuana emitting from within the apartment. Officers saw two men and a woman inside the apartment, including Barrera.

Barrera attempted to elude officers but was immediately arrested, according to police.

Members of the Kerrville Police Special Crimes Unit arrived to help with the investigation.

Police said felony warrants were issued for Barrera for drug smuggling and evading arrest with a vehicle.

Conrad Ruiz Falcon Sr. was charged with manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance (greater or equal to four grams but less than 200 grams) methamphetamine, tamper with evidence and possession of marijuana (less than two ounces).

Valine Carrillo was charged with manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance (greater than or equal to four grams but less than 200 grams) methamphetamine.

Police said Barrera will also be filed at large for charges of manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance (greater or equal to four grams but less than 200 grams) methamphetamine, tamper with evidence and possession of marijuana (less than two ounces).

"It is a result of this spirit of cooperation and team work that we are able to protect our citizens from the negative and enslaving consequences of drugs in our community," said Kerrville Police Chief John M. Young, Jr.
