A Driftwood man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting has turned himself in, a Hays County Sheriff's spokesman confirmed.
Louis Antonio Ramos Jr., 27, surrendered to police around 2 p.m. on Thursday after investigators said he shot Johnny Lee Saxon, 48, to death on Wednesday evening.
According to police investigators, the shooting took place in the 400 block of Todo Lane in the Rolling Oaks subdivision in Driftwood, near Dripping Springs.
Ramos fled the scene in a brown van.
Some 18 hours later, Ramos was taken into custody in the area of Mount Sharp Road and Coleman's Canyon in Wimberley after a 911 report of a suspicious person led investigators to that area.
Ramos had a gunshot wound on his leg, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment after being taken into custody.
He will be taken to the Hays County Jail after he is released from the hospital.
Ramos has an extensive criminal history, Hays County Sheriff's investigators said, his criminal record shows over 20 charges filed against him since 2006, ranging from assault and drugs to traffic tickets.
