SAN ANTONIO – It's been nearly five years since the shooting death of 26-year-old Javier Ramos, and in that time, police have never arrested his killer.
Family members remember him as a loving father, brother and son. His brother, Nick Ramos, still can't believe Javier's murderer is still out there.

"I think he was targeted out of hate, out of anger, out of envy," said Nick Ramos.
Nick Ramos believes his brother was killed by someone he knew.
"You don't know who to trust. He had friends and we don't know if they were involved, who was involved," said Nick Ramos.
In 2009, just a few weeks before Christmas, police say someone kicked in the back door of Ramos' house in the 5200 block of Overpool Street and fatally shot him before leaving. Nothing was taken from the home.
"He was coming out of the room, I guess he saw whoever it was, and then I don't know, " said his mother, Amalia Zapata.
Zapata says since his death, she suffers from depression. She's also heartbroken her son's only child is being kept away from her.
"He had a real big heart, he would help anybody and he was real dedicated to his daughter, he was a good dad," said Zapata.
"He has a daughter that doesn't know him, doesn't know how beautiful he was, his soul, his heart, his smile," said Nick Ramos.
While no arrests have been made in his death, the family has faith that someone will come forward with the truth, so they can finally let Javier Ramos rest in peace.
