An arrest warrant affidavit stated that fire personnel discovered the vehicle burglary and theft on May 27.
About $20,000 worth of equipment, including the Jaws of Life, a hydraulic lift-type device that firefighters often use to free people who are trapped in crashed vehicles, had been taken from the fire station in the 20100 block of Pleasanton Road, the affidavit stated.
The affidavit stated that a man later told investigators that he was approached by Wroblewski around the same time, asking him if he was interested in buying equipment that he had in the trunk of his car.
The witness told investigators that he saw a "jaws of life' in Wroblewski's trunk and asked him where he got it, the affidavit stated.
The man told them Wroblewski admitted that he and Gundred had stolen the equipment, but said it was taken from property that belonged to the Southside Independent School District, the affidavit stated.
The affidavit stated that the witness reported the crime to the Southside ISD police the next day.
The Bexar County Fire Marshal's office later got involved in the case and investigators questioned both suspects, and took them into custody. Investigators said they are still looking for a third suspect.
