SAN ANTONIO – A monkey caused a bit of a headache for the staff at the San Antonio Zoo Thursday after escaping from its enclosure.

It happened around 8 a.m. when "Jude," a 4-year-old White Cheek Gibbon, found a hole in the netting of his exhibit.

It took trainers nearly eight hours to get him back in his proper pen.

"This is his home, and he's pretty comfortable here. So he knew mom and dad were in a certain area, and that's the area he wanted to get back into," said Elizabeth Castillo of the San Antonio Zoo.

Zoo officials said none of the animals or the public were ever in any danger.
