SAN ANTONIO – The Alamo Area Council of Governments welcomed its new Executive Director Diane Rath on Wednesday.
The former chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission, was selected from 93 applicants for the job in a AACOG has been without a full time leader since two top executives left the agency after a scandal earlier this year.
Rath says she's ready to get started.
"I'm excited. I start Dec. 15 and very much look forward to learning and better understanding what we are doing and then seeing opportunities to be more efficient and more effective," Rath said. "Because we always have to take advantage of those."
AACOG provides everything from home weatherization to law enforcement training to small cities and counties around the Alamo City.
