Judge: Donkey caused death of former Hollywood Park Mayor

Bill Bohlke case closed

SAN ANTONIO – A judge in Atascosa County has confirmed former Hollywood Park Mayor Bill Bohlke was killed by an enraged donkey.

Bohlke was found dead on his ranch in August of 2012.

The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office investigated his death, but Bohlke's family was not convinced of the findings. They said they believed he was murdered.

A judge said Friday the sheriff's office did conduct a thorough investigation.

Seven forensic pathologists reviewed the findings and all said Bohlke died of blunt trauma to the head and trunk.

The judge said no changes would be made to Bohlke's death certificate and ruled the case closed.
