SAN MARCOS, Texas – Students and officials at Texas State University are on alert after several reports of a man fondling himself in front of students.
"We've had three reports of a individual exposing himself to people in the community, essentially dropping his pants and fondling himself," said Jayme Blaschke, director of University News Services.
Students on campus know the man as the fondler. He's shown himself to students twice on campus and once at an off-campus apartment.
"That's really scary, I really hope that I'm not the next person that could possibly see that. I hope they catch him before that," said student Alyssa Carroll.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 40s or 50s, approximately five-foot-seven or -ten inches in height with a slender to medium build.
"I just look around and it's just like, 'Whoa, is he going to be here?' You never know who you are going to run into," said student Marco Villarreal.
School officials have sent alerts to students through email and admit this has never happened before.
"Our primary concern is for the safety and well being of all our students, faculty and staff. And we want to create a safe secure learning environment. The fact that there's an individual coming on campus and disrupting that is a great concern," said Blaschke.
School officials are asking students to not approach or confront the man if he appears again.
Anyone with information the incidents is asked to call the Texas State Police Department or the San Marcos Police Department.
