Sgt. Javier Salazar with the San Antonio Police Department said the theft operation has been going on for weeks, but police were keeping close tabs on three of the suspects for the last few days.
Police initially observed three male suspects at North Star Mall Wednesday.
Salazar said two of them walked into Dillard's and grabbed merchandise, while the other picked them up in a getaway vehicle.
Officers followed them to the Lucy Cafe in the 2500 block of West Avenue and sold the stolen property to a female employee there.
"In the three years that I've been a spokesman, I've yet to see a perp walk where we do four at a time," said Salazar. "I think it's certainly a testament to the hard work of the detectives and their skill at not only being able to get the three foot soldiers, but the fencing operation as well."
Salazar said when police went to the female employee's house, they recovered $30,000 in cash and several thousand dollars of recovered stolen property. Mostly high-end clothing, hand bags and tennis shoes.
Police believe this group is responsible for several different robberies, but for now, they face charges of theft from $1500 to $20,000.
