Mexican Mafia members wanted in killing of couple

Bodies of Traci Lynn Lemley, Jeremy Carrico found in fields

HONDO, Texas – The killings of Traci Lynn Lemley, 31, and Jeremy Carrico were allegedly committed by two members of the Texas Mexican Mafia.

Medina County Sheriff Randy Brown said Monday that John David Mendoza, 35, and Kristopher Leigh Sanchez, 34, are wanted in the killings.

"Every police agency, highway patrol, they all have the information, and they're entered in the system. So it's just a matter of time, and we'll have them pinned down," Brown said.

Brown said both homicides allegedly took place at the apartment of Loribeth Krystain Martinez, 23, just off Austin Highway. Martinez turned herself in Saturday. She is being held in the Medina County Jail in lieu of $700,000 bond.

Lemley's body was found June 8 in a Medina County cornfield off Highway 90. Carrico was found dead June 17 in a plastic storage container in a Nueces County field.

Killed at Martinez's apartment, Brown said the bodies of Lemley and Carrico were dumped and set on fire. Brown said the victims were held hostage before their killings.

Brown said a possible affair Martinez's boyfriend was having with Lemley may have been a motive for Lemley's slaying.

Brown said Friday that Lemley and Carrico were together the day before Lemley's body was discovered.

"Not sure (if they were) boyfriend-girlfriend, but they knew each other. They'd run around together," Brown said.

Although the bodies were found elsewhere, Brown said those responsible for the deaths could face capital murder charges in Bexar County, where Lemley and Carrico were killed.

Brown said at least two additional arrests are possible in the case.

Anyone with information on Mendoza or Sanchez is asked to call Sheriff's Office at 830-741-6153.
