OXNARD, California – Day 2 in Cowboys camp is the first day of workouts. It begins with a morning walk-through that is not open to the public but gives us access to the players. Right out of the gate, they throw Tony Romo at us at 11:30 a.m. OK, that's the way to kick things off. Romo answers questions from everything about his back to Dez being in camp, revealing they are like brothers. Little did we know at the time, there was a stye in his left eye that would force him to miss the second workout on Friday. Now Jason Garrett will have his first solo press conference just a few minutes after that, and then it's off to edit for the early broadcasts and make those deadlines.
After the early broadcasts are over, it's one of my new jobs to find interesting photos for Twitter and Facebook. Social media is now a big part of any media company, and we are no exception. My phone has been upgraded after my Blackberry failed me for the third and last time. So now I am armed with a better camera and off I go. Little did I know that one shot of Cole Beasley putting in some extra time after workouts would blow up, but it did. Never had that many retweets ... ever.

But now comes more fun. The Cowboys decide to throw Dez Bryant at us. This is the first time he has spoken to the media since the loss to the Green Bay Packers and the controversial no catch call, and the first time since he signed his new 5-year, $70 million deal. The Cowboys two biggest stars on the same day. Unheard of, but much appreciated.
After we are able to turn over what we call a package on Tony Romo, we are able to do the same for Dez, thanks to some great hustle. Another deadline monster beaten. Oh yeah, where's my luggage?
