SAN ANTONIO – A suspect identified as Ruben Serna, 26, has been arrested in connection with a robbery in which San Antonio police believe he used a woman to lure the victim to him.

The arrest affidavit stated that the 31 year old man victim police soon after he began chatting online with a woman named “Valerie,” on July 10, they agreed to meet in person at a certain location.

After they met up, he said she gave him directions to an apartment complex near Loop 410 and Marbach and told him specifically where to park.

The affidavit stated that after the victim pulled into the designated parking spot, a man approached and asked if he was meeting Valerie.

The man later flagged down a police officer outside a nearby restaurant and told him what happened, the affidavit stated.

Detectives said they used the phone number that the man had for the woman and were able to determine that Serna was their suspect, the affidavit stated.
