UIW enrollment up 10.5 percent from last year

School now fourth-largest private university in state

SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word announced Tuesday that is has set an enrollment record this year, bringing its total global enrollment to 10,984 students.

The new enrollment total is a 10.5 percent increase from last year's enrollment, the school said, and has increased in 29 of the last 30 years.

“Our enrollment growth reflects the breadth and quality of UIW’s academic programs,” UIW president Dr. Lou Agnese said in a statement. “Just as important, the enrollment continues to be representative of the racial and ethnic diversity of Texas.”

UIW has tripled its enrollment since 2000 and is now the fourth-largest private university in the state.

  • Biology
  • Business Management
  • Psychology
  • General Business

Its top UIW graduate/professional programs based on enrollment are:

  • Pharmacy
  • Business Administration
  • Administration
  • Optometry
  • Physical Therapy
