San Antonio police previously had been seeking information about the whereabouts of Aguilar, who had been on the run.

An arrest warrant affidavit states Salazar was abducted from a home in the 400 block of West Drexel on Aug.18. Investigators were told by another suspect in the case that four men took Salazar after the front door was left unlocked for them.

The affidavit states Aguilar confessed to the cutting and shooting of Salazar after someone else backed out of doing so.

Rudy Duque, one of the three individuals charged with the kidnapping of Salazar, according to the affidavit provided information which led to Aguilar being identified. Aguiliar told Duque about the injuries inflicted while he was in a vacant house on South Flores Street.

Three of the suspects involved in the kidnapping portion of the case are already in jail. Rene Guerrero, 23, George Quintanilla, 58, and Rudy Duque, 32, are all charged with aggravated kidnapping.

Aguilar is charged with capital murder.

Investigators believe the murder was gang-related.
