SAN ANTONIO – Border Patrol agents found 11 immigrants packed into a refrigerated trailer Saturday at the Falfurrias Checkpoint on U.S. Highway 281 North.
Agents rescued the immigrants, who were packed inside the trailer with produce with temperatures around 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

The immigrants were discovered with assistance from a K-9 unit during an immigration inspection on the driver of the big rig, a U.S. citizen. He was arrested.
Four other immigrants were rescued in separate incidents on Saturday.
Border Patrol officials said two Guatemalan women were rescued from the trunk of a car. A man from El Salvador and a woman from Ecuador were found in the trunk of another car.
Two women and one man, all of whom are U.S. citizens, were arrested in the smuggling attempts.
